Doors!
A DOOR is defined as “any
gateway marking an entrance or exit from one place or
state to another” [Dictionary.com].
We all know what doors are and how they work…we
go to them or through them all the time. And every time
we are face with a decision, “do I go through
this door or not?” Usually the decision is an
easy one, but when used metaphorically, these “Life
Doors” are not so simple!
Throughout life we have to make choices as to what
DOORS: we open; how we open them; should we open them;
etc…. Some doors lead to amazing blessings and
rewards – others lead to trouble, pain and possible
destruction. Depending on what we do at these “DOORS”
can make a difference – yes, even an eternal difference!
During this 6-part series we will stand before these
DOORS and determine what we will do in their presence.
We’ll see doors we need to open and pass through
and DOORS we need to slam closed and lock up tight!
Much of life is simply determined by what we do at
DOORS!

6-7 Door Number One or Two?
Guest Speaker: Mark Briggs
In our life we often come to a point of decision, and
ask "do I go through this door or not?" There
are so many doors of opportunity or convenience that
we walk through, which simply lead to pain and heartbreak,
even though they appear harmless at the time. At the
same time, God invites us to walk through the door that
leads to a full and exciting life with Him. As we open
our series on DOORS, in this message we will examine
how we often take the "road more traveled",
while missing out completely on the blessing God has
for us on the "road less traveled". John 10:1-3;
7; 9; Matthew 7:13-14

13-14 Enter!
Guest Speaker: Matt Myers
When we think about prayer, we have many questions –
What will I say? What about the place or the time? Will
He answer? Jesus says in Matthew 7:7-8 that when we
simply “ask, seek and knock, God will open the
door.” But the only way we can walk through the
door is to understand how to enter correctly. As we
examine Jesus' previous instruction on prayer in Matthew
6:5-8, we are often surprised at His answers. God wants
us to enter into a growing, living relationship with
Him and this requires us to take actions we may not
have considered before.

20-21 A Door of Opportunity!
One of the amazing opportunities God gives us is the
opportunity to open our lives up and speak up for Jesus.
In fact, this the primary reason we don’t go to
heaven immediately after accepting Christ. His commission
to us is to “Go…make disciples…!”
This weekend we will look at how God opens doors, how
we can tell when doors are open and then how to go through
open doors to share our faith in Christ.
*** Acts 14:27 “On arriving there, they gathered
the church together and reported all that God had done
through them and how he had opened the door of faith….!”
[New International Version]
*** Colossians 4:3 “And pray for us, too, that
God may open a door for our message, so that we may
proclaim the mystery of Christ….” [NIV]
October 27-28 Door is Alarmed!
Every one of us must deal with temptation. During the
Halloween season we joke about the Devil and pretend
that he isn’t real – BUT HE IS! He isn’t
omnipotent, but he is dangerous. So how do we keep our
Spiritual doors “locked” and deal with the
“roaring lion” that is our ever active enemy
who has but one goal – hurting God by hurting
those of us that God loves:
Genesis 4:7 (NIV) “If you do what is right, will
you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right,
sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you,
but you must master it."
November 3-4 Is the Door Locked!
Guest Interview: Mike and Danell Butka
Stranger Danger! Don’t open the door to anyone!
These are instructions we give to our children. We do
this to protect our families from harm. In Genesis we
find the story of a father that tried to do the same
for his family. This weekend we will talk about some
very practical ways to “Lock out” some of
the world’s dangerous influences from our homes!
Genesis 19:6 (NIV) “Lot went outside to meet them
and shut the door behind him”
November 10-11 An Open
Door!
“Would Jesus feel welcome at your church?”
This is a legitimate question. Sometimes the actions,
“marketing,” programs and methods of the
modern church can cause us to ask, “Would Jesus
do this?” In the Scriptures there is a time when
it seems that the Church was doing business as usual
– and Jesus was on the outside! We never want
that to happen at CCC – so to Jesus we always
want to have An Open Door!
Revelation 3:20 (NIV) “Here I am! I stand at
the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens
the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with
me.”
