The Truth About Small Groups
"Two are better than one because
they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity
the man who
falls and has no one to help him up!"
-- Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Questions about Small Groups
You probably have many questions as
you consider joining a Small Group.
Below are answers to some of the commonly asked questions...
if yours isn't answered here, don't hesitate to give us
a call!
Growing Smaller as We Grow Bigger
We'll agree, Chandler Christian
Church is a big place with lots of
people. But you know what? We are all people with daily
struggles and
triumphs, hurts and needs--just like you! If you're looking
for a way to
"get connected" with a group of people just
like yourself who you can
laugh with, cry with, learn more about God and share your
life
with...then a CCC Community Group is a great place to
start. Just read on...
"After you BELIEVE
in Christ as your Savior, God wants you to BELONG to Christ's
body. There is no such thing as a 'Lone Ranger' Christian.
The
Bible teaches over and over that we are to be in community
with each
other. I know of no better place for this to happen than
your
involvement in a Community Group."
Pastor Roger
"Our Community Group is so special
that I know if any one of us called and said,
I need your help,' we would hang up the phone and go there
without asking
why. That is the power of the Lord working through our
group."
Colleen Schuh
What
is a Small Group like?
It is just like you...whatever that
is. Couples, singles, men only and women only meet for
a study or a special need. Small Groups will help you
grow closer to others as you grow closer to God.
How do I join?
Contact Pastor
Terry Anderson or Anna Martin to find out the latest information
on groups currently meeting.
How will I know if it is the right
group for me?
You will be warmly invited in to your
selected group and you'll know
within two or three meetings if it is the right group
for you. If it is
not quite right, don't worry and don't give up! There
are many groups to
choose from at CCC and one will be your perfect match.
How can I find time for a Community
Group?
We are all so busy! But a small group
takes an hour or so a week, but
this small investment will give you lifelong and eternal
benefits.
Surely a great group of friends is worth more than a couple
of sitcoms a
week! After you join a Community Group, your question
will become, "Why did
I wait so long to join a Community Group?!"
What will it be like the first time
I attend?
Many new Community Groups are forming
each month, so chances are you'll be
no newer than anyone else in the group. If you join an
already
established group, the Community Group Leader and Host
will be your
welcoming committee. In either case, you will be introduced
to everyone,
bringing you up to speed on what is going on and making
sure you quickly
become one of the group.
