Help the Hurting Heart!
(Pastor Larry Daily)
*** James 5:16 (NCV) “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so God can heal you. When a believing person prays, great things happen.”
Who doesn’t have a HURT, HANG-UP or HABIT they
wish they didn’t have?
My identity is found in CHRIST, not in what I STRUGGLE with.
“Chandler Christian Church exist to help everyone find an ever-deepening
relationship with Christ.”
*** II Corinthians 1:3-4“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts
us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the
comfort we ourselves have received from God.”
As we grow and mature in Christ and as we begin to find comfort and healing it should become our PRAYER to reach out and help others find the comfort and healing WE have found in Jesus.
*** I Corinthians 6:9-11 “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
We get cleaned up, we find SANCTIFICATION. Meaning God sets us apart to be used for His PURPOSE. We become PURPOSE DRIVEN.
“Nothing changes when nothing changes.”
There is often a misperception that all people who attend a recovery program
are all DRUG ADDICTS or ALCOHOLICS.
“God never WASTES a hurt”.
“When will the pain stop”? “When will life get better”?
The answer is found in making a DECISION, to move toward HEALING
by seeking God’s help.
*** The Healing at the Pool (John 5:1-8)
Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for a feast of the Jews. Now there
is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda
and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of
disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, and the paralyzed. One who
was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying
there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked
him, "Do you want to get well?"
"Sir," the invalid replied, "I have no one to help me into
the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else
goes down ahead of me."
Then Jesus said to him, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk."
You must BELIEVE that God can heal you of your struggles and then take
the ACTION STEPS to getting better.
*** Matthew 9:12-13 (The Message)
“Jesus, overhearing, shot back, "Who needs a doctor: the healthy
or the sick? Go figure out what this Scripture means: 'I'm after mercy, not
religion.' I'm here to invite outsiders, not coddle insiders.”
Nothing is too BIG for God when we are WILLING to get well!
