THE REAL SECRET OF WEALTH!

Most Think That the Secret to
Wealth is MORE!
*** Ecclesiastes 2:8-11 “I collected great sums of silver and gold, the treasure of many kings and provinces…. [9] So I became greater than any of the kings who ruled in Jerusalem before me. And with it all, I remained clear-eyed so that I could evaluate all these things. [10] Anything I wanted, I took. I did not restrain myself from any joy…. [11] But as I looked at everything I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless. It was like chasing the wind. There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere.” [New Living Translation]
*** Ecc. 5:10 “Those who love money will never have enough. How absurd to think that wealth brings true happiness!” [NLT]
*** Philippians 4:10-13 “I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. [11] I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. [12] I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. [13] I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” [New International Version]
The Biblical, Real Secret of Wealth is CONTENTMENT!
*** Phil. 4:12 “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” [NIV]
THE REAL SECRET TO CONTENTMENT IS TRUST!
*** Phil. 4:13 “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” [NIV]
STORY #1
Daniel 6:10 “Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published,
he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem.
Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his
God, just as he had done before.” [NIV]
Daniel 6:19-23 “At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried
to the lions' den. [20] When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in
an anguished voice, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God,
whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?"
[21] Daniel answered, "O king, live forever! [22] My God sent his
angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because
I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you,
O king."
[23] The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den.
And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because
he had trusted in his God.”[NIV]
STORY #2
Mark 4:35-41 “That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let
us go over to the other side." [36] Leaving the crowd behind, they took
him along, just as he was, in the boat. [37] A furious squall came up, and
the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. [38] Jesus was
in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him,
"Teacher, don't you care if we drown?"
[39] He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be
still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. [40] He said
to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"
[41] They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the
wind and the waves obey him!" [NIV]
STORY #3
Acts 12:6-11 “The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter
was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood
guard at the entrance. [7] Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light
shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. "Quick,
get up!" he said, and the chains fell off Peter's wrists.
[8] Then the angel said to him, "Put on your clothes and sandals."
And Peter did so. "Wrap your cloak around you and follow me," the
angel told him. [9] Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea
that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing
a vision. [10] They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron
gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went through
it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left
him. [11] Then Peter came to himself and said, "Now I know without a
doubt that the Lord sent his angel and rescued me from Herod's clutches and
from everything the Jewish people were anticipating." [NIV]
What Matters Is This: CAN I TRUST GOD TO GET ME THROUGH THIS!
*** 1 Peter 1:3-7 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [4] and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you…. [6] In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. [7] These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” [NIV]
*** Phil. 4:12-13 “I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of contentment in every situation, whether it be a full stomach or hunger, plenty or want; for I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.” [NIV]
The Real Secret
to Wealth is Contentment!
And the Real Secret to Contentment is Jesus!
