A FEAST TO REMEMBER!

1. THE SOURCE OF A FEAST TO REMEMBER!

*** Luke 22:13-15 "So they prepared the Passover. When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer." [New International Version]

*** Exodus 12:13 "The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt." [NIV]

*** Exodus 12:24-27 "Obey these instructions as a lasting ordinance for you and your descendants. When you enter the land that the Lord will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony. And when your children ask you, 'What does this ceremony mean to you?' Then tell them, 'It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.' "Then the people bowed down and worshiped." [NIV]

*** Exodus 6:6-7 "Therefore, say to the Israelites: 'I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians." [NIV]

*** 1 Cor. 11:23-24 "For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." [NIV]

THE CUP OF PLAGUES!

*** Luke 22:20 "In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." [NIV]
*** 1 Cor. 11:25 "In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." [NIV]

3. THE SEQUEL OF THE FEAST TO REMEMBER!

*** Luke 22:16 "For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God." [NIV]

*** Luke 22:15-16 "You've no idea how much I have looked forward to eating this Passover meal with you before I enter my time of suffering. It's the last one I'll eat until we all eat it together in the kingdom of God." [Message Bible]

*** Mark 14:25 "I tell you the truth, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God." [NIV]

THE CUP OF ACCEPTANCE!

*** Rev. 19:5-9, 17 "Then a voice came from the throne, saying: "Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both small and great!" Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.) Then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' "And he added, "These are the true words of God." [17] And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice..., "Come, gather together for the great supper of God...." [NIV]

"He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus." - Revelation 22:20 [NIV]
