2. BY RECOGNIZING THE BASIS OF LOVE!

$ THE BIBLICAL LAW OF INDIRECTION!

– The more you give, the more you receive!

*** 1 Cor. 13:4-8 "Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong. It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out. If you love someone, you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost. You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him, and always stand your ground in defending him. All the special gifts and powers from God will someday come to an end, but love goes on forever." [Living Bible]

$ THE BASIS OF LOVE IS SELF SACRIFICE!

*** Romans 12:10 "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves." [NIV]

*** 1 Peter 1:22 "Now that you have…sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart." [NIV]

3. BY SEEING THE BEAUTY OF LOVE!

*** Luke 10:33-37 "Then a Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt deep pity. Kneeling beside him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with medicine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him. The next day he handed the innkeeper two pieces of silver and told him to take care of the man. 'If his bill runs higher than that,' he said, 'I'll pay the difference the next time I am here.' "Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits?" Jesus asked. The man replied, "The one who showed him mercy." Then Jesus said, "Yes, now go and do the same." [NLT]
