Psalm 33:12

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance. NIV

How do we do this? It is up to God’s people.

Psalm 33:1 You are the Lord's people. Obey Him and celebrate! He deserves your praise. CEV

So how do we add our contribution to trusting God like it says on our money?

1. We get to know this God who is the Lord.

Psalm 9:10 Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. NIV

·He is Lord over all the nations.

2 Chron. 20:6 "O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you.

Job 12:23 He makes nations great, and he destroys them. He makes nations large, and he scatters them. ICB

Acts 17:26 From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. NIV

·He is The God of Power.

1 Chron. 16:26-27

The gods of other nations are merely idols, but the Lord made the heavens! 27Honor and majesty surround him; strength and beauty are in his dwelling.

Isaiah 40:15 No, for all the nations of the world are nothing in comparison with him. They are but a drop in the bucket, dust on the scales. He picks up the islands as though they had no weight at all. NLT

Habakkuk 3:6 When He stops, the earth shakes. When he looks, the nations tremble. He shatters the everlasting mountains and levels the eternal hills. But his power is not diminished in the least! NLT

·He is the God of Judgement.

Hebrews 12:29 for our "God is a consuming fire." NIV

Zeph. 3:8 Therefore wait for me," declares the Lord, "for the day I will stand up to testify.I have decided to assemble the nations, to gather the kingdoms and to pour out my wrath on them--all my fierce anger. The whole world will be consumed by the fire of my jealous anger. NIV

Matthew 25:32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. NIV

4. We learn how to trust in this God.

Isaiah 26:3-4 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, whose thoughts are fixed on you! 4Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock. NLT

·Focusing on the Lord!

·Obeying the Lord!

Matthew 7:24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. NIV

·Stopping trust in the wrong things!

Psalm 49:13 This is the fate of those who trust in themselves, and of their followers, who approve their sayings. NIV

Jeremiah 17:5-7 This is what the Lord says: "Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans and turn their hearts away from the Lord. 6They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, on the salty flats where no one lives. 7"But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. NLT

Psalm 20:7 Some nations boast of their armies and weapons, but we boast in the Lord our God. CEV

·Keeping trust in God in the tough times.

Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good. When trouble comes, he is a strong refuge. And he knows everyone who trusts in him. NLT

Isaiah 8:17 I will wait for the Lord to help us, though he has turned away from the people of Israel. My only hope is in him. NLT

God is a refuge for us. NKJ
