1. Maintain Your Focus- Watch the Course

    Proverbs 4:25

    Let your eyes look straight ahead,

        fix your gaze directly before you. (NIV)

 

  1. Plan your Strategy-

Proverbs 21:5

      Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run;

        hurry and scurry puts you further behind. (MSG)

 

  1. Forget the Past

Philip. 3:13-14

My friends, I don't feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead. [14] I run toward the goal, so that I can win the prize of being called to heaven. This is the prize that God offers because of what Christ Jesus has done.

 

  1. Look for Cautions

                Proverbs 15:31

            If you pay attention when you are corrected, you are wise. (TEV)

 

  1. Avoid Crashes

Proverbs 16:18

            First pride, then the crash—

            The bigger the ego, the harder the fall. (MSG)

 

  1. Give Your All

1 Cor. 9:24

Surely you know that many runners take part in a race, but only one of them wins the prize. Run, then, in such a way as to win the prize. (TEV)

 

2. Maintain your Equipment- Know your Car

 

  1. Fuel Up

Matthew 4:4

Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" (NIV)

 

  1. Reduce Drag

Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. (NIV)

And all of us have had that veil removed so that we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more. (NLT)

 

 

3. Maintain Your Relationships- Listen to Your Team

 

  1. Listen to your Crew

Proverbs 27:9

            The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense. (NLT)

            Refuse good advice and watch your plans fail;

            Take good counsel and watch them succeed. (MSG)
